Term 3, Week 9 Learning Update

  Wattle Day Week 6 September 1 st was National Wattle Day and the students participated in many different activities to celebrate the native plant namesake for our school. Thank you to families that shared some small clippings of Wattle from your gardens.   Sports Carnival Week 7 What a wonderful day the Sports Carnival was and we are so proud of everyone involved for making it such a memorable day for the students. Thank you to parents and families for coming along to show your support.   Interschool Sports Carnival Week 9 Congratulations to all students participating in the Interschool carnival on Wednesday and/or Friday of Week 9. Go Wattle Grove Primary School!    Maths and Science Day Week 9 Also in Week 10, teachers will have a focus on encouraging and inspiring students in Maths and Science! Hands-on activities will be delivered to help develop students’ critical thinking skills, as well as foster a sense of fun and engagement in these vital learning areas!

Term 3, Week 5 Learning Update

 Book Week The Book Week dress-up parade was on Friday 20th August. The students looked fantastic and a big thank you to all the parents and carers for putting together their costumes. No Trash Tuesday In accordance with our school’s Sustainability plan, our goal is to significantly reduce our school’s waste. No Trash Tuesday is an initiative which encourages students and families to take a mindful approach to reducing the waste we produce. Packing a lunchbox with no waste is both environmentally friendly and responsible. Tip: Try to use re-usable containers rather than bringing pre-packaged items. Phonics We have been working on split digraphs that using the bossy e such as a-e as in cake. The bossy e makes the vowel say its name. We have also learnt the digraph ai as in rain and ay as in tray. Writing This term we have been learning about persuasive text. A persuasive text is used to convince someone of your idea and reasons why you are for against something. Examples may include let

Term 2, Week 9 Learning Update

Well, although it has been a long term we have seen it go by very quickly.
